Thomas Ryan, PE

Principal and Co-founder

Tom Ryan has over 28 years of stormwater engineering experience and 14 years of project management experience, covering a diverse range flood hazard and water quality related projects from the initial planning and study phases, through design and construction support services for both public and private clients.

His project experience includes the preparation of drainage master plans, flood control facility design, value engineering, advanced hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, drainage related coastal zone and storm surge projects, FEMA and DSOD studies, channel restoration, and the planning and design of water quality treatment measures.

In recent years, Mr. Ryan’s work in advanced urban area hydraulic modeling and public awareness has included the first-of-its-kind simulations that resulted in award winning projects and numerous national and local presentations and publications. In particular, his experiences with urban watershed-wide 1- and 2-dimensional dynamic models incorporating distributed rainfall-runoff (rain-on-grid) has proven to be a valuable tool for identifying the most feasible, and cost effective solutions for clients.

Mr. Ryan is a hands-on project manager, which allows him to stay in touch with his technical roots and on top of the technological advances in the industry.  His enthusiasm for the work he does can be seen in presentations at various association conferences throughout California.
